July 19-23, 2010 - Hoori Ghahremani will attend UCLA's Heritage Language Teacher Workshop,
a workshop designed to help language teachers face the challenge of teaching heritage language students. The workshop is sponsored and presented by
National Heritage Language Resource Center at UCLA.

is part of a series of capacity-building workshops intended "to create a cohesive group of nonprofits working together to empower our communities."
Other speakers included Mr. Ali Sadr, Principal, Iranian School of San Diego, part of Persian Cultural Center.
KPSF joins in promoting US Census 2010 among Iranian-Americans
September 9, 2009 - KPSF has joined other Iranian-American organizations to promote US Census 2010 participation in
our community. Our goal is to make sure Iranian-Americans residing in the United States are accurately counted. Other organizations
promoting this effort include:
PAAIA's 2010 US Census Project Center,
NIPOC, and others.

KPSF to help teach school teachers about Persian culture
April 25th, 2008 - Khayam Persian School Foundation (KPSF) received a grant from PARSA Community Foundation to familiarize Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) teachers with Persian culture. The program is part of the
Irvine Public School Foundation's (IPSF) "Program to Advance Cultural
Education" (PACE) and is a collaboration between KPSF, IPSF,
and Fullerton International Resources for Students and Teachers (FIRST). The "Persian Summer Seminar" for teachers will be
held this July 15-17th in Irvine.
Norooz Celebration on Saturday, March 15, 2008
Our annual Norooz celebration was held at Turtle Rock Community Park, Irvine.
It was filled with traditional dances, animated singing, and poetry recitals that were enjoyed both by our children and parents.
The performances included a skit in which the children explained the significance of objects displayed in the haft-seen.
Our thanks go to Golsanam Fazel, our guest coreographer (and haji-firouz!),
Sahba Motallebi who's student sang and performed the setar, and our dedicated teachers and parents.

"Persian for Persian Speakers": UCLA to teach Persian to Persian-speaking high school students in Summer 2008
The UCLA Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures will offer a class for high school students who speak Persian at home and want to learn to read and write or wish to develop their literacy.
Dates: June 23-August 1, 2008 (6 weeks)
Time: Mon. and Tues. 9-12; Thurs. 9-11
Credits: 6 UCLA credits
Course fee: $336
Note: Only high school students will be allowed to enroll.

Cal State University, Fullerton offers intensive summer Persian language program with full scholarship support
CSUF is offering an Intensive Immersion Language Program in Persia in summer 2008 through the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures. Accepted students will have all expenses paid, including tuition, room & board, and field trip expenses.
Program dates are May 27-July 3 2008.
